Our original throw blanket design for the legendary Spitfire airplane! The Spitfire is a true legend of aviation history, renowned for its exceptional performance and iconic design. Developed by R.J. Mitchell and manufactured by Supermarine, this British fighter aircraft became a symbol of resilience and innovation during World War II. Its distinctive elliptical wings and powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine allowed it to excel in speed and agility, playing a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain and turning the tide against enemy forces. The Spitfire's combination of advanced aerodynamics and robust construction made it a formidable adversary in the skies, while its enduring legacy continues to captivate aviation enthusiasts and historians alike. Today there are around 250 Spitfires still exist - some as static displays and others in various storage and being actively restored, yet currently there are less than 60 are still airworthy.
WOVEN BLANKETS: Colors are approximate only. Due to the unique production process, actual colors are more muted. This is not a defect, but part of the beauty of these blankets. Every woven blanket is slightly different due to the unique production process using old-world methods developed in the 1800s and modernized by today’s industrial capabilities. Your blanket is not printed; it’s woven. The weaving process uses a 6-color warp and natural and black fill yarn to achieve a visual color range of almost 200 different colors. 100% cotton. Machine wash, gentle cycle, cold water; air dry or tumble dry on low. Designed and woven in the USA.
FLEECE BLANKETS: We use an ultra-soft fleece blanket with gray flannel fleece back and a high-resolution printed front with gray edging. Colors will be much brighter and artwork will be crisper than on a woven blanket. 100% Polyester. Machine wash, gentle cycle, cold water; tumble dry on low. Designed and printed in the USA of imported materials.
